Do I need to know a lot about jazz theory in order to do the course?

Do I need to be able to read music?
It’s not necessary to sight-read music. TAB will be provided for all the musical examples (notation is also included for those who can read it, but it’s not required).
I notice you play fingerstyle - do I need to know fingerstyle to do this course?
No – this course is suitable for fingerstyle OR plectrum players. I’ve designed the course to work with either plectrum, plectrum + fingers (hybrid picking), or fingerstyle. The only exception would be a few lessons that look at specific Joe Pass-style approaches that might be slightly easier with some fingerstyle technique, but the vast majority of the course works with any plucking technique.
