Double Your Top Speed, Command Your Coordination, and Walk The Path to Effortless Guitar Mastery with the
revolutionary online course:

“Fast Lane”

The Total Technique Roadmap for Guitar

It’s time to take your technique up a gear…

Dear Friend,

If you want to know the fast path to developing rock solid technique on guitar whilst halving the time you spend in the practice room to get there, this letter will show you how.

Quick question:

When it comes to guitar technique, are you (metaphorically speaking) driving a Lamborghini?

Or… a lemon?

Here’s the thing:

Having good guitar technique is just like having a finely tuned sports car. There are no misfires, you can handle any twists and turns in the music that’s thrown at you, and your top speed is as fast as you’re ever going to need it.

But this is the whole problem…

Too often, the bottleneck to a guitar student’s progress is technique roadblocks.

There’s no doubt about it:

If you can’t change chords quickly, play lines at fast tempos, or pick accurately without missing notes, you’ll find that your guitar journey will quickly come to a grinding halt.

But Just Imagine This:

Imagine for a moment what it would feel like to have technique like Joe Pass, Pat Martino, or Mike Stern?

You wouldn’t have any irritating obstacles to your creativity.

Your music would start to naturally flow, completely uninhibited by the practical aspects of playing your instrument.

You would be able to confidently play to your family and friends, effortlessly connecting the music in your mind to your hands on the fretboard – without obstacles “tripping you up” all the time.

That would be wonderful – wouldn’t it?

Guess what:

There IS a Way

To Get To This Point

In Your Playing.

I’m Going To Show You Exactly How.

The solution is not by practicing endless drills for hours on end, hoping that you’ll get some result years down the track.

There’s a much faster way:

Once you know the “mechanics” as to how your brain learns and refines skills, you can make dramatic improvements in your technique – just by knowing a few simple rules and applying them to the way you practice.

So let me ask you:

  • Are you tired of having a “butterfingers” guitar technique, and want to learn how to supercharge your accuracy on the fretboard?
  • Are you fed up with struggling to keep up with fast moving chord charts, and instead want to have that “Lamborghini” technique I was talking about?
  • Simply put – do you want to command the guitar, and be its master – so you can focus more on the music rather than on your fingers?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then look no further my friend – what I’m about to show you will completely transform your guitar playing.

Here it is:

Presenting the first ever A – Z guide to building a rock solid, effortless,
and FAST Guitar Technique.

My new online course, Fast Lane: The Total Technique Roadmap for Guitar,  is a revolutionary step-by-step program in which you’ll learn the secrets of playing fast, playing effortlessly, and developing rock-solid coordination.

Informed by the practice habits of some of the worlds most virtuosic musicians, this course has been designed from the ground up to give you the essential exercises and approaches for quickly supercharging your technical skills on the guitar so you can finally unlock your musical potential – and be a force to be reckoned with on the bandstand.

Here’s what YOU will be able to do as a result of this course:

  • Quickly develop your picking speed – nail those double-time licks and difficult phrases with ease
  • Change chords fluidly and navigate the length of the fretboard without missing a note – all while keeping up with the rest of the band
  • Get the security and fluidity you need for those dastardly fast tempo tunes that are the “bread and butter” of jam sessions
  • Develop effortless coordination and finger independence in the fretting hand with ease
  • Bonus: Get a complete toolkit of chordal techniques you need to play chord melody and solo guitar
  • Pick, fingerstyle and hybrid approaches are covered in detail in this new course – learn them all or just focus on what suits your playing the most
  • Extend your coordination and agility in both hands with a concise set of exercises that will get you rapid results with just 10 minutes practice a day

Some of the tips inside this course include:

  • How the hit TV show Seinfeld’s George Costanza holds the secret for you reaching ultra-fast picking speed. (Remember his “do-the-opposite” theory? It’s time to put that into practice.)
  • The missing link nearly all guitar students fail to realize when they are trying to “train their fingers” to build speed and coordination. (Hint: there’s a much more direct – and easy – path to take if you know this secret.)
  • How a virtuoso Australian jazz trumpeter holds the secret of improving your guitar technique with less practice – not more. (Leverage your inborn natural abilities and access the parts of your brain that you never realised existed – UNTIL NOW…)
  • The counter-intuitive approach to structuring your guitar practice so you’ll dramatically improve your technique while vacuuming your house or taking the dog for a walk. (I know it sounds crazy, but I’m serious – this really does work.)
  • The weird secret Olympic athletes know that could take your technique from novice to an expert in record time. (Cutting edge research you can use from countless studies to get immediate results. Elite athletes have known this all along. It’s madness no one has applied this to guitar – until now.)
  • The 3 things most guitar students get wrong about their technique that dooms them to failure before they even start. (Don’t allow yourself to make these mistakes that are, unfortunately, very very easy to make.)
  • The strangely useful knowledge of Sigmund Freud that will give you a clear framework for structuring your technique practice. (Whether you’re a fan of Freud or not, one thing he mentioned could completely transform your approach to jazz guitar practice – and HALVE the practice time you need to get results.)
  • The easy way to approach building your technique using my innovative “Technique Triangle” system (We’ve deconstructed technique into 3 easy to understand “sides” – knowing what these are will eliminate the confusion and all those unnecessary exercises that are a waste of precious practice time.)
  • How to cut out 90% of the time devoted to your technique practice and, unbelievably, get DOUBLE the results. (Hint: The key is knowing what to focus on, in the correct order – and not getting distracted by all that useless stuff.)
  • The techniques used by famous actors and directors (that most NOVICE musicians are oblivious to) in order to routinely deliver stellar performances, even in high pressure situations. (You can use this in the recording studio, performing in front of people or just by yourself. When I first found out about this one, it changed the way I approached playing guitar forever.)
  • What most virtuoso electric guitarists know about increasing picking speed (that many guitarists are too often clueless about), and the tricks you need to steal from them. (Ever wondered how those guys can play so damn fast? We’ll reveal all you need to know.)
  • Why those huge books full of hundreds of boring technical drills can not only be a waste of time, but even cause your technique to go backward. (Hint: Improving your technique requires you to focus on less exercises and drills, not more – but only if you’re focusing on the most important ones – like the exercises in this new course.)
  • The way to increase your top picking speed IMMEDIATELY with a counterintuitive, but incredibly effective practice approach – that takes only 5 minutes a day. (This “foolproof” method quickly worked wonders for myself and many of my students around the world).

And…

  • A concise set of essential exercises that are guaranteed to double your speed, improve your coordination, and make your playing fluid, effortless, and EASY like never before. (Even with only 10 minutes practice per day.)

The time is ripe to develop your guitar technique in a way you never thought possible. Let’s make this happen!

This course is the missing link standing between you and TOTAL technical mastery on guitar:

  • You’ll go from feeling uncomfortable with anything approaching moderately fast tempos to having rapid fire scales at your disposal
  • You’ll go from having that “butterfingers” feeling in your hands to having complete, dependable control of your instrument.
  • You’ll go from feeling tense and rigid when you play to having a well-oiled technique “machine”, giving you a sense of freedom and effortlessness you need for guitar playing

And…

  • You’ll have the key that will unlock your musical potential on the instrument.

Let’s do this!

Advance Praise of Fast Lane, from Students Worldwide:

“I’m playing faster, but more importantly I’m playing with better articulation, clarity, and coordination…”

“I thoroughly enjoyed this course and loved the lessons – each has clear purpose and moves your technique forward. I’m playing faster, but more importantly I’m playing with better articulation, clarity, and coordination… Even at slower tempos the lines I’m executing are tighter, and telling a better story. I would recommend this course for anyone. In fact, I wish I’d got this sort of training when I was more of a beginner player – I would have developed better technique right from the jump.”

~ Mark Bauer, USA

“We got the “Fast Track” to our new levels of playing facility, using your combined decades of experience…

“Greg and Stu, I really enjoyed your Fast Lane: The Total Technique Roadmap for Guitar course. We were presented with a treasure trove of living examples of the common problems guitarists face, and the ways to overcome them. We got the “Fast Track” to our new levels of playing facility, using your combined decades of experience. Thanks for a top course and please keep up the good work!”

~ Lou Farina, Australia

“I really benefited from this course, and I think it is really worth the money I spent.”

“Before doing the course, I was aware that my technique wasn’t good enough – I lacked speed, unable to play higher than 90 BPM, which is not fast enough for jazz. The Fast Lane course is very comprehensive, systematic, and offers a a lot of opportunities to improve. I really benefited from this course, and I think it is really worth the money I spent.”

~ Thomas Maurer, Switzerland

 Who this course is for:

This course is suitable for all levels of ability on guitar – good technique is one of those things that applies to all players.

We’ll start right with the basics on the core motion of the fingers that comprises good technique, and we build on that foundation to develop your speed, coordination, with exercises that go all the way from rudimentary to a highly advanced level.

Regardless of what level you come into the course with, you’ll find a complete pathway to get into an advanced technical stage. Remember though that even if you’re a more advanced player, assessing that the “mechanics” of your hands are working well is a very important step to taking your technique to the next level – so you save yourself the work of having to change it later on.

So, we recommend that all guitarists, regardless of level, go through the foundational levels of the course to make sure that your technique is working correctly in a way that will facilitate more advanced development later on.

Anyway here’s the deal: I’m offering this incredible opportunity to completely transform, to supercharge your guitar skills, all for the one low price of $97:

Frequently Asked Questions

Click the boxes below to reveal the answers to any questions you might have about this exciting new course:

How long do I get access to this course for? Is it lifetime access?

Yes –  by purchasing enrolment to this course, you’ll get lifetime access to the course materials. We have designed the course in this way because no two people are the same when it comes to the duration of time it takes to develop technique, so we wanted to allow all participants to have permanent, ongoing access to the course materials so that they can develop their technique on a schedule that suits them.

I want to play fingerstyle solo guitar style - will this be covered in the course?

Yes! Both Greg and Stuart have had many years experience playing solo guitar and chord melody, and this course will show you the shortcuts to mastering fingerstyle technique if you’re interested going down that path. (By the way, we also have full modules on plectrum technique and hybrid picking as well, to suit all interests).

Do I need any special equipment to participate?

No – all you need is a computer or a device like an iPad or mobile phone with Internet access to access the course.

I’ve noticed Greg only plays fingerstyle in his videos - will picking with a plectrum be covered in the course as well?

Yes, as well as fingerstyle, plectrum techniques will be fully covered in this course – Stuart King is an expert in plectrum technique. We have designed this course to cater for all styles of picking. We also have included lessons on hybrid playing as well – where you combine fingerstyle and picking techniques in one. Pretty cool huh?

Can you run this course on my iPad or mobile phone, or is it just for a desktop computer?

The course will work perfectly on a desktop computer or an iPad or any other tablet with access to the Internet. You can still access the course content with a mobile phone, but the easiest way to use the course would be through a computer or tablet (e.g. sometimes it’s difficult to read the TAB for the exercises on a small mobile phone screen.)

I play more blues and rock - will this benefit my technique for other styles as well as Jazz?

Yes! Most of my website readers are interested in jazz, which is why this course has a jazz sound to some of the exercises. However, the core techniques outlined in this course are the same regardless of whatever style you play, so would still be incredibly beneficial if you have interests other than jazz.

I’m not very good with computers. Would it be too difficult to learn how to use this course?

Don’t worry – navigating the course on your computer is easy and intuitive.  I have had hundreds of students participate in FretDojo Academy courses, and many of those students only have rudimentary computer skills but have still managed to use my courses just fine.

Am I too old to get better at my technique?

As long as you’re alive, you can get better at guitar technique.

The reason: It’s been proven that the brain continues to grow new neurons and make new neural connections every single day of your life. Although it might be slightly faster for a younger person to develop technique than an older person, you can definitely still make fabulous progress regardless of your age. Try not to get into the mindset that “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” – that is rubbish. If you believe that, then you won’t maximize your full potential on the guitar.

What exactly is included in this course? What is the course format? Are the video lessons live, or pre-recorded?

The bulk of this course consists of high quality pre-recorded video lessons, which you can either watch online or download for later. You can watch the videos at any time that suits your schedule – it’s a “go at your own pace” arrangement.

The video lessons come complete with accompanying sheet music, diagrams, backing tracks and detailed advice on how to structure your technique practice session.

For full details of the lessons included in all the modules of the course, click here.

What will this course help me achieve?

This course will give you a rapid solution for supercharging your technique on guitar

Through learning the core exercises contained in the course, you’ll quickly develop and improve every aspect of the techniques needed to pull off guitar playing confidently.

By doing the course, you’ll drastically improve your picking speed, coordination, and effortlessness on the instrument. The result of all this is that you’ll be able to confidently tackle any type of music or any soloing technique on your guitar –  because you’ll have the chops to take it on. This means you be able to focus more on your music making – and less on your hands.

Are the video portions of the lessons downloadable? Will I be able to keep the course materials, including the diagrams and sheet music?

Yes! All the lesson materials, including the videos, are downloadable. Remember though, that for this course you’re going to get lifetime access anyway, so the online version will always be available for you to access.

What if I need to go on holidays or a work trip during the course?

Don’t worry –  the course has lifetime access without a fixed deadline, so you can develop your technique on a schedule that suits you.  We realized we needed to structure the course like this because everyone develops technique at a different pace, so it was only fair to give lifetime access to this course for this reason.

Do I need to submit work or videos for this course?

No – this is a “go at your own pace” course so there are no “assignments” or anything like that. If you ever did want personal feedback on your playing I offer that as part of my FretDojo Academy Membership (a separate program).

Can you clarify at what level of playing this course is pitched at? Is it something aimed more at the intermediate/advanced players, or beginners as well?

As long as you’ve been playing guitar for more than a few months, this course is suitable for all levels of ability. We start right with the basics on the core motion of the fingers that comprises good technique, and we build on that foundation to develop your speed, coordination, with exercises that go all the way from rudimentary to a highly advanced level.

Regardless of what level you come into the course with, you’ll find a complete pathway to get into an advanced technical stage. Remember though that even if you’re a more advanced player, assessing that the “mechanics” of your hands are working well is a very important step to taking your technique to the next stage – to save you the work of having to change it later on.

So, we recommend that all guitarists, regardless of level, go through the foundational levels of the course to make sure that your technique is working correctly in a way that will facilitate more advanced development later on.

Is there any prior knowledge required in order to do the course?

No – technical exercises are something that you can do regardless of your level of skill on guitar, theory knowledge, etc.

Do I need to know a lot about music theory in order to do the course?

No –  it’s not necessary to know anything about music theory for this particular course, as this program is all about developing the technique in your hands.

What is your refund policy?

Your investment in this course is protected by my 30-Day 100% money back guarantee. Enroll in the program, put it into action and see results for a full 30 days. If you’re not happy, just send me an email in the first 30 days and I’ll give every penny back right away.

What material does the course cover?

Click here to see the course outline to get a full run through of the modules included in the course.

I'm worried I won't have enough time in my schedule to do the course - Is there any flexibility in the pace of the course?

Yes! You have lifetime access, so you are welcome to do this program on a schedule that suits you.

Do I need to be able to read music? Are there guitar TABs available for the exercises?

No – it isn’t necessary to read music for this course. Full notation along with TAB will be provided for every musical example, so it would be helpful if you know how to read TAB at least. But even if you don’t know how to read TAB, you can still copy the exercises and fingerings from the videos provided.

Will beginners be able to do this course?

Yes –  beginners absolutely should do this course, to provide you with a solid technical foundation that you can build upon as you progress with your playing. So often, intermediate and advanced players have to completely change their technique after many years when they realize what they have been doing is causing a bottleneck. So if you’re just starting out, this course will make sure that you avoid any of the common technical traps and instead create a firm basis for your technical development moving forward into the future.

Can I pay with credit card?

Yes – we have fully encrypted Stripe payment processing for credit cards, as well as PayPal if you prefer that option.

Is this course suitable for jazz guitar only?

As Greg and Stuart (the instructors of this course) have a background in jazz guitar, some of the exercises have a ‘jazz flavour’ to their sound. But the techniques you will learn from the exercises will benefit you regardless of your main guitar style. This is especially the case for this course because we’re covering fingerstyle, plectrum and hybrid techniques in one course. So, you’ll find that the exercises will be very useful regardless of what style you play.

Does this course just have exercises or will it feature actual licks I can use in my soloing?

We have endeavored to make the exercises as musical and useful as possible. We’ll give examples of how you can use them in a performance context, rather than just as an exercise. Cool, huh?

What techniques does this course cover?

Please see the course outline above here for details on exactly what techniques this course will cover.

I don't like performing in front of people, do I have to submit work?

No – it’s not necessary to submit any of your playing to the site for this particular course.

Can I pay in installments?

No – only full one-time payment of the course fee will be accepted at this time.

Is there any ongoing financial commitment/subscription?

No – this course is a one-time fee for lifetime access, and you will not be charged any monthly subscription for this program.

I've been playing for a long time and I’m already familiar with all the common techniques. What will the course show me that I don't already know?

A good question. The best way to answer this is to think about where your playing is at currently.

If you don’t have any technical issues with your playing that is preventing you from making progress, then you probably don’t need this course.

But on the other hand, if you’ve been struggling for a long time and failing to overcome long standing technical challenges on guitar, this course would be a perfect fit for you.

What’s different about this course, compared to other offerings, is that it starts off by teaching you the core principles of how your brain works, how it refines motor movement, and how the conscious and subconscious mind interacts when developing a skill. Once you know these principles, you have the ability to rapidly develop your technique. So if you don’t know the secrets yet, you should seriously consider giving this course a whirl.

Does this course include advanced or “special effect” techniques?

This course mainly focuses on building coordination and boosting your picking speed, whilst reducing tension and encouraging effortlessness. We focus on the main techniques that you need to know in order to play 95% of any guitar music.

(Perhaps at one point, we might do a follow up “advanced/special effect techniques’ course, however, we thought this kind of thing would be a distraction for this current course as we really want to help people develop their core techniques first so that they can remove any major obstacles with their guitar playing as a priority.)

Do you have other students who have participated in other courses before?

Yes! Thousands students have participated in FretDojo Academy programs over many years, and I have received many glowing testimonials from participants from around the world – check out the videos and comments from my students you can find by scrolling through this page.

Do I have to play electric guitar or is this also suitable for acoustic or classical guitar styles?

You can play any type of guitar for this course, it doesn’t matter at all what your preference is. The core techniques are very similar across the different types of guitars. We’ve also included detailed lessons on fingerstyle, plectrum, and hybrid techniques, so you can choose the picking style that suits you and your instrument the most.

I have limited time to practice - is it still worth doing this course?

Definitely! Because this course includes lifetime access, you can treat it as a complete resource for developing your technique for many years to come. So I would still recommend you check this course out even if you have limited practice time at the moment.

Note that developing your technique doesn’t necessarily mean spending hours and hours on exercises (the first module of the course is dedicated to explaining why). By doing only a small amount of the right exercises daily with the right approach, you can make drastic improvements to your guitar playing – even with limited time available.

More Success Stories From FretDojo Alumni…

Don’t just take it from me, let my students do the talking!

“I took a chance with Fret Dojo and it turned out to be exactly what I needed.”

“Trying to establish a strong jazz foundation has been difficult for me. I was tired of cobbling together disjointed lessons from all over creation. There are so many different lessons and hacks out there, some good but mostly not. I was spinning my wheels trying to curate my own curriculum while trying to learn jazz at the same time. What I really needed was a long term structured course.

Greg designs this course so that you have clear guidance every step of the way. I also appreciate that he makes himself very accessible for questions and feedback. Everything I’ve learned from Fret Dojo is incredibly indispensable and it also consolidated my previously cobbled together nuggets of theory.”

~ Louis B., USA

“It’s kind of like when you first learn to play the guitar – and your progress is exponential.
It’s like that again.
I haven’t experienced that feeling for ages…”

“This course is just absolutely brilliant in getting you to play and be musical. I can’t speak highly enough of this course. It’s changed my musical journey. I’m so excited with what I have now to build on over the next few years.

Greg himself is a fantastic teacher, by far the best music teacher I’ve ever had. And I have gone to music college for 2 years as well by the way – so I’m a good person to judge that!

What you learn more than anything is – ‘if it sounds good – Play it!’. Theory does have its place, but sounding good is the most important thing, and Greg gets you sounding good from day one.”

~ Paul Flynn, UK

“Greg is one of the best teachers I’ve ever come across…”

“If you all have loads of books that make no sense that you never use, Greg breaks it down and makes it useable. This is unlike any course you’ve ever been involved with, mainly because Greg is so good at explaining things that I now understand that I didn’t understand before. It’s a fabulous course and I highly recommend it.”

~ Mike Bryant, UK

“I would highly recommend Greg’s course and teaching to any guitar player who is looking to improve their soloing skills and is seriously interested in getting quality value for their time and money.”

“I really do believe that Greg’s course helped me to further not only my playing skills in soloing but also to become a better performing musician on guitar in Jazz and other styles as well. Greg’s positive and informative approach to teaching is inspiring. His explanations are simple but are loaded with enough information to keep even the seasoned players building and adding to their skill set. His course is laid out in an easy to understand way that builds one concept on the other and gives his students a well rounded understanding of navigating the fretboard and in speaking the language of Jazz through their playing.

I would highly recommend his course and teaching to any guitar player who is looking to improve their soloing skills and is seriously interested in getting quality value for their time and money. I look forward to studying with Greg again in the future in more of his amazing courses. I Hope to see you there!”

“Greg has put together a really clear, well-designed curriculum, that makes a whole lot of sense…”

“I wanted to say a couple of things about how great the course was. It is well laid out, the video examples are great, the handouts that are provided are really useful. His concepts of the four pillars of jazz guitar improvisation (technique, fretboard knowledge, vocabulary, and play) is well woven throughout the course so that it really gives you a good grounding in what you’re doing.

There’s definitely a whole lot more to be learned and a whole lot more to do, but this was a wonderful way to start and I think everyone should give it a try. Thanks!”

~ Chip Carvell, USA

“Since the beginning of the course you have had the personal touch to give individual feedback and that really makes a difference.”

“Thanks a lot Greg!! This course has been a revelation for me because I have been playing guitar for 34 years. A few years ago I became interested in jazz guitar. Tried many books and courses but could not really integrate that knowledge into a performance. The system of the course, being stepwise and adding knowledge and complexity with each step, helped me consolidate the knowledge. But for me the most important aspect was the assignments, because they pushed me to practice and present a complete piece, that I’ve never done before. Now I feel confident in my playing thanks to you. I look forward to further courses. Thanks again!”

“The day everything changed in my approach to developing guitar technique…

I’ll be honest with you:

For years, I struggled with my guitar technique.

So many of the classic charts and solos are at fast tempos, and my technique was reaching its limit.

And it wasn’t that I was being lazy in the practice room either.

In fact:

I was diligently practicing hours and hours, running through endless technical drills and exercises that my teacher had recommended.

Over and over, my teacher kept telling me: “Sure, progress is slow, but that’s what it’s like for everyone. The only way to get better is to keep doing those hours – in a few years you will overcome those roadblocks, trust me”.

So I took his advice and kept lumbering my way through those endless drills. It was painfully boring, and hard on the hands too.

But:

All this work was futile – it did very little to increase my technical ability on guitar. I was frustrated, and not making fast enough progress.

It was only years later that I realized:

What I was doing back then was not the way to get better at technique. It makes hardly a dent, in fact.

 Why?

I realized I was spending too much time on similar exercises, rather than focusing on core exercises that are the most essential, and that cut out all the fluff.

That’s not all:

By learning how my mind was naturally wired and the way that the brain refines motor activity most efficiently, through the interplay of conscious and subconscious processes, I worked out how to drastically increase my technique – while, incredibly, halving the time I was spending on exercises.

Once I studied in detail how high achievers in many fields gain success, it became crystal clear to me how I needed to structure my practice, what exercises I needed to focus on, and what I needed to STOP doing in order to progress my technique.

And That’s

When

Everything

Changed.

Once I knew the secrets to leveraging the natural inborn abilities of the mind, my technique (and especially my speed on guitar) started improving incredibly quickly.

The best part?

This new course gives you an exact blueprint for learning how to do this – you just need to follow the steps.

The result for you will be this:

An exponential improvement in your accuracy and speed and coordination, by using only the minimum amount of exercises necessary – to give you the maximum result.

I’m so excited for you that you have this shortcut available to you for supercharging your technique that I didn’t have.

Through doing this course, you’ll finally get the results that you want in your jazz guitar technique so you can finally start focusing on the music – rather than on your hands.

I’ll see you on this inside!”
